Blog #2 -The Most Favorite Summer Thing

I can’t with nature. It’s too much to do deal with. There’s the sun, fresh air and all of God’s creatures living life in their habits. I hate all of it.
Give me air conditioners, pavement and solitude any time. So it’s funny that my most favorite thing I did during the first part of this summer, involved the outdoors.
The end of Winter and Spring 2018 was difficult. I made it through the semester, like the amount of talent Selena Gomez has, barely.
With the amount of work and school I had, I became a hermit. Work, school, homework, sleep and repeat was my cycle. I had become too lonely in my solitude.
Just when I wanted to give up, crawl in a fetal position and eat ice cream for comfort, the sweet relief of summer tapped my shoulder.
Two friends from high school, who I refer to as The Judies, called me to have a quality weekend.
So, The Judies come to town and tell me they have Saturday planned to float the river.  As an avid avoider of the outdoors, I was extremely opposed to the idea. But with some pressure, they convinced me to float the river.
After learning the rules of the river, I discovered something magical. You can float the river and drink alcohol. The day was turning out to be better than I expected.
So after winning the battle of getting on the inner tube, we began to float the river and pop open a cold one and let the river take control of our journey.
As the alcohol began to do its job, The Judies and I just talked. It was the relaxation and decompression that I needed. I felt refreshed, rejuvenated, but, mostly, intoxicated.
