My Favorite Summer Memory

Favorite Summer Memory

Taking college courses over the summer can be very challenging, considering it’s a five-month course condensed into 4 weeks. I often have to make the time for things I do leisurely during a normal spring or fall semester. I graduate in December and I could not be more excited to be done with my hectic routine of work and school. I am also looking forward to spending more time with my family as they live five hours south of San Marcos.
On Saturday July 7, I heard a knock at my door around 11 am. I couldn’t believe it. My family had driven all morning to surprise me. Being in an ecstatic mood, I decided that I should return the favor of joy and take them somewhere fun. I found an awesome deal for 40 percent off one-day tickets to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and purchased them. My mother was not so excited about me spending the money for the tickets but having worked all summer, I was financially secure enough to do so. The only thing I was not excited for was the traffic in San Antonio on a Saturday, but we got through it. We arrived at the park at 3 pm and my siblings faces lit up like I have never seen. Within the first five minutes of being in the park, I was reminded that you can’t put a price tag on happiness, and the money I spent to get us in was well worth it. We stayed on the park grounds until they closed at 10 pm and my siblings had a blast.
With a tight schedule, school assignments and constant work, it was by far my favorite memory of this summer. It was a break from all the stresses in life, and a chance to hang out with the people that I love most. It was my two younger brothers’ first time there and they can’t wait to go back, and I can’t wait to go back with them. Hopefully next summer my youngest brother Cody will be tall enough to get on more than just one ride.
