Texas State Moment



In this life there are so many moments that we carry with us forever. Looking specifically into moments here at Texas State, there is only one that I will forever carry with me. That moment is my journey actually getting into Texas State and receiving my acceptance letter.

I had graduated high school in 2014 and immediately following that I went to college. My first year of college took me to Utah Valley University. It was a quick freshman year that lead to me finding my way back here to Texas. My second year of college I completed at Blinn College. The second year hit hard my grades were bad and the year just left my GPA sinking fast. In that moment I decided to take a semester off and go get EMT certified. Two thousand dollars later and a piece of paper in my hands saying I could save lives I realized it wasn’t for me. It was time for me to face that dreaded mess of a GPA. Facing that made me set a goal on attending Texas State and getting a change of scenery.

Lots of endless nights studying and a few community college classes later my GPA was where it needed to be and I found myself starting at the paper that truly kick started my future and here I am now, just a few short months from getting another piece of paper that will be the foundation of my future.

My Most Cherished Memory at Texas State

My journey here at Texas State has been one I will remember and keep for the rest of my life. Although, my college career didn’t start here, I still consider myself a native to San Marcos. I started here at the end of my sophomore year and I still had some hours I needed to complete to become a junior. I instantly fell in love with campus and the environment around it. I definitely found my niche here at Texas State. There are so many amazing memories I’ve experienced here and to pick just one has been a challenge. The one memory that sticks out to me the most was the time I walked around campus with my dad.             Walking around campus with my dad may not seem like a momentous memory or event, but it’s definitely one that I hold close to my heart. Blog #4 - Personal Hobby

I don't have hobbies, really. I mean, I used to collect Pokemon cards back in the day, but I stopped after I became a first-generation Pokemon Master . By the time I got to high school, I started to focus on being a social butterfly. After high school however, I was blessed by the greatest invention to ever grace the airwaves. RuPaul's Drag Race premiered in 2009. I got to see what drag is and could be. Here in Texas, pageant style drag is everywhere and prominent. But with RPDR , I got see how many different styles of drag there is. Punk, goth, realness, showgirl, spook, camp and comedy are just a few styles that exist within the drag world. Well after this discovery, I began practicing makeup and seeing what I could do. In the beginning, I looked like a mess.
