The best thing I did during the first part of the summer was going home to South Carolina to visit family and friends. It was very nice to enjoy the two weeks break between spring and summer classes. I work on average 25-30 hours a week as well as taking a total of 18 hours this summer.
During the summer, I usually drive down to Savannah, GA from my dads house. The trip is about 4 hours to visit friends, play golf and go out on the boat. After staying in Savannah, we went to Charleston, SC for an airshow.  We made it back to Savannah just in time to watch the sunset as we left Charleston.

My favorite food from home is Beaufort Stew which consist of fresh crab, oysters and shrimp. In a separate pot you steam a mixture of seasoned potatoes, corn and sausage to mix with the fresh seafood. This meal is often referred to as “low country boil”. So far it has been very hard to find any “coastal” food here unless you drive down to the coast.
Texas has been my residence for the last 8 years, but the east coast will always be home. If you ever get the chance to visit the east coast you’ve got to check out Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA !
